Meet the Smarty Pants Team

<strong>Andrea</strong>
AndreaCentre Director
Andrea has a Diploma in Primary Teaching, a Graduate Certificate of Early Childhood studies and a Diploma of Childcare. Before completing further studies to pursue her career in Childcare, Andrea worked in Primary schools for many years. Andrea has worked in a range of services for 15 years and has completed further studies to become a Manager. Andrea has Managed Smarty Pants Early Learning Centre now for over 12 years.
<strong>Peta</strong>
PetaSenior Educator Canaries
Peta has a certificate III in Childcare and is now studying her diploma. Peta has been the lead educator in our Canaries Room (6 weeks – 15 month children) for over 6 years and her knowledge with this younger age group is extensive. Peta prides herself on running a calm and relaxed room with flexible routines for her children.
<strong>Nicky</strong>
NickySenior Educator Lorikeets
Nicky has completed a Diploma in early Childhood Services and is the Group Leader of our Lorikeets Room, Nicky is well known to the children and families within the community. Nicky focuses on offering the children support and comfort to form secure attachments and a trusting relationship. These relationships allow Nicky to encourage and support a child’s efforts when attempting to succeed, teaching them to never give up and to be persistent to challenge their skill set by learning to recognise their own efforts and achievements.
<strong>Jessie</strong>
JessieSenior Educator Kookaburras
Jessie joined Smarty Pants in 2018 returning home to Cooroy after some time away travelling. Her goal is to continue growing as a professional to give the children at Smarty Pants the best possible learning experience that will help them develop and get ready for Kindergarten. Jessie spends a lot of time having fun while providing the children with knowledge, understanding and social skills they will need to move to the next class.
<b>Renae</b>
RenaeKindergarten Teacher
Renae holds a Bachelor of Education in Primary Teaching, along with a Diploma of Early Education and Care. Renae joined the Smarty Pants team at the beginning of 2019. In Renae’s class early learning is supported, scaffolded and developed through quality interactions with peers, parents and carers, paving the way for exploratory understandings of the individual child, the world around them and their place in it. Renae values the natural environment in the early learning context, allowing for rich, authentic experiences to occur on a full time basis. Renae believes in the fundamental importance of play, environments and relationships in the growth and development of children and ensures children are provided with a safe, supportive and positive foundation for lifelong learning.
<strong>Fran</strong>
FranSenior Educator Emus
Fran has a Certificate III & Diploma in Early Childhood studies & is a qualified Teachers aide. Fran has over 16 years experience working with children of all ages both in the UK & all over Australia. Fran specialises & is drawn to children with special needs. Fran currently works as the qualified assistant in our Kookaburra Room.
<strong>Tracy</strong>
TracyAssistant Educator
Tracy has a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and has been working with children aged 0 – 5 for the past 4 years. Before this Tracy was a Teacher aide at a primary school. Tracy enjoys working with children and she understands that when a child feels safe in their relationships and surroundings they can become more confident in showing their individuality. Learning through play is a great way to achieve this for young ages.
<b>Melissa</b>
MelissaAssistant Educator
Melissa is currently completing her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. I have also completed my Senior First Aid Certificate.After having two children of my own, I am passionate about wanting to pursue a career in childcare.My focus is to provide the best possible care, by offering children a safe and nurturing environment for them to grow and learn.
<strong>Molly</strong>
MollyAssistant Educator
Molly has held a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and care for 5 years and is currently studying her Diploma. She has experience as an Au Pair, working with Babies and Toddlers. Her enthusiasm for working with children has inspired her to want to eventually further her education and ultimately become an Early primary School Teacher.

Shendell is currently studying her Certificate III in Early Childhood services and works in the position of assistant. Shendell has three children, which attend Smarty Pants and Cooroy State School. Shendell believes in supporting children to become confident and involved learners and supports their learning of dispositions such as their problem solving development and encouraging learning through play.

Rita currently works at Smarty Pants Early Learning Centre as a casual assistant. Rita provides valuable support to both our educators & children.

<strong>Anjelica</strong>

Hi, I’m Anjelica and I am a Certificate III qualified assistant in the Emu room. I started my early childhood education journey at an early age through tutoring students after school in year 8. I continued on to complete my studies at 17 and have worked across all age groups since then. Before joining Smarty Pants I was an assistant director, this experience has given me a broad knowledge of all areas of childcare, and the many aspects that go into your child’s education experience. I am passionate about self-expression and providing our Smarty Pants children with a safe place to be themselves and grow into independent and confident people.

Hugo is our centre pet french bulldog. He may sleep at home with our director Andrea but we still think of him as our own. Hugo loves napping in the sun, lots of pats from the children and the occasional game of catch me if you can in the backyard. Hugo has a calming influence on both our staff and children at Smarty Pants.
<strong>Ada</strong>
AdaSmarty Pants Second Best Friend
Ada is Hugo sister and is our second centre pet french bulldog. She may sleep at home with our director Andrea but we still think of her as our own. Ada & Hugo love napping in the sun, lots of pats from the children and the occasional game of catch me if you can in the backyard. Both Ada & Hugo have a calming influence on both our staff and children at Smarty Pants..
